Sleeping on a bed is probably one of the world’s greatest gifts to mankind. The luxurious spread space for my arms and my legs, unbound by a seemingly endless mattress. If you couldn’t tell, I slept on a bed last night. Got 10 glorious hours of Zzzzs after watching Pirates of the Caribbean with the team last night (although Sean and Anna phased in and out of sleep during the movie) thanks to our lovely hosts, the Lincoln Family. We had brunch with Maceo’s dad, Julio, and brother, Milosz, at Roots Cafe in Salt Lake City and played a great game of Liar’s Poker (an upcoming spokes tradition) while we waited to chow down. After brunch, the team headed over to the saline city for some city explorin’. While scavenging the city for free parking, we stumbled upon this wonderful cornucopia of a grocery store, Hammond’s. I found myself a nice juicy honeycrisp apple. Happy day. We met up with Sean’s friend, Kennedy, whose family we are staying with for these past two days and visited the temple and the state capital. Cole, Travis, and I quizzed each other about state capitals as we walked to the state capital. Trying to keep our brains sharp after all that biking.
There, we played some Liar’s Poker (ah a recurring theme to this journey).
Salt Lake City has this super cool shared scooter system and thoroughly intrigued by effortless speed, Sean and I decided to take a crack at it.
We tried to calculate the cost so that it came in at exactly 5 dollars for the time we spent scootering but we forgot about tax and it charged us another 5 dollars to compensate for the scooter app credit we used. So salty. Overall pretty darn cool I’d say. Amazing how fast automated vehicles move. We then headed back home to Saratoga Springs where we were greeted with a delicious taco dinner and some serious audio book recommendations. I’m looking forward to another 10 hour meeting with the bed tonight. She’s looking so lovely.
