(Carson City, NV -> Fallon, NV)
A stream of consciousness and beauty coming at you from Travis: Today we woke up in Carson City and headed towards Fallon, Nevada. Overall, we had a great time in Carson City. It is a really cute down and our warm shower hosts were exceptional. I feel we really bonded as a group. I am also glad Sean is back; it feels like a complete family again. I was told Nevada would be flat. I was lied to. We biked through hills that had small steady inclines. Our communication regarding stopping locations was not the best today. I passed two of our stops on accident. But we worked well together as a team and were able to get everyone on the same page by the end of the day. I think I biked well today, but those last 10 miles were killer.
I was exhausted and dehydrated when we finally arrived at our destination. The low point of my day was when I got a flat tire 5 miles away from your lunch stop. Luckily, Sean brought the car and was able to transport me. I think I had two high points today. First, I had a great time grocery shopping with Asia. It was fun to go searching for Almond Milk and navigating through the stores. Second, the after-dinner charades game was competitive but fun. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. I helped Sean cook tofu stir-fry. We thought we cooked enough food for left-overs, but our team eats a lot! Tomorrow we plan to wake-up at 5:30am. This is a little ambitious, but necessary as the days are getting hotter. I noticed that my body is struggling to handle the longer bike rides. I am going to have to do a better job pacing myself and eating more throughout the day.
